Cabinet is hiring
Cabinet is a knowledge base that AI agents read and write directly: plain files, on your disk, in git. Thousands of people run it themselves. Organizations asked for a hosted version, so we are building Cabinet Cloud.
We are hiring for two founding roles. You own what you build, talk to customers yourself, and decide what ships. In person, most days.
A hacker mindset is a must, for both roles
You take systems apart to see how they work, read the source when the docs are wrong, script anything you do twice, and build the prototype nobody asked for because it was faster than arguing about it.
Founding Builder
You ship features from idea to production by yourself: spec, design, code, deploy, and you stay responsible for them after they are live. Five or more years writing production code, before the models showed up. Agents make you faster. They do not make you qualified.
What you will do
- Ship features end to end and own them in production
- Talk to users and enterprise customers directly, then build what they actually needed
- Build the backend behind Cabinet Cloud: agent orchestration, scheduled jobs, sync, tenant isolation
- Decide what gets built. Nobody hands you tickets.
You might be a fit if
- Five or more years of production engineering. You could build this without an agent, you just would not want to.
- You have shipped something strangers used
- You do the product thinking and the design when there is nobody else to do it
- Backend and infrastructure depth is a strong plus. Cabinet Cloud runs agents on customer infrastructure with customer data on it.
Founding Content Lead
You are the voice of Cabinet in public, and you understand the product well enough that developers take you seriously. Distribution is half the product.
What you will do
- Own Cabinet's story across X, LinkedIn, YouTube, the docs, and every launch
- Shoot, edit, and ship: demos, build-in-public, launch videos
- Run launches end to end: releases, Show HN, Product Hunt, community
- Grow the developer community around the repo
You might be a fit if
- You have grown an audience or a product from zero and can show the numbers
- You are a power user of Cabinet and of knowledge management tools, and you understand the people who use them
- Native-level English. Everything you publish is in English.
- You use AI tools all day, and the taste is still yours
- You post in public under your own name, often
