Client Folder
One client or project folder in Drive, with a page on top of it that stays current.
What you get
The summary is one page that says everything you would want to know before a call: who this is, what was agreed, what it is worth, what has been delivered, where it stands. It is rewritten every morning from the folder, so it is never a document somebody forgot to update. It is the folder, read for you.
Open items is the short list of things still waiting on someone. Written every Friday afternoon, oldest first, with who owes what. It is the page you read before you go home.
You can also just ask. "What did we agree about revisions?" "When does this renew?" "What have we invoiced?" The answers come out of the contract and the emails and the notes that are already in the folder.
How to look at it
The Drive folder sits in the sidebar of this cabinet. Open it and you are looking at the real files, the same ones the Drive app keeps on this computer. Nothing is copied anywhere and nothing in Drive is changed.
The summary and Open items are pages in this cabinet. They come pre-filled with a made-up client so you can see the shape straight away. Both say clearly that the client is invented. Your first real run replaces them.
One folder, one cabinet
This template is built for one folder: one client, one project, one deal. That is what makes the summary worth reading, because every sentence in it is about the same thing.
For a second client, install it again. Two cabinets named after two clients read better than one cabinet that is about both.
Before it can read your real folder
Connect Google Drive when Cabinet asks, or later from Integrations, and pick the client's folder. You do it once. It uses the Google Drive app on this computer, so nothing new gets installed and nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Your team reads. It does not write to Drive, rename anything, or move a file. Until you connect a folder, both pages keep showing the example and the two routines wait.
If the pages still show the example
The routines only write when they can actually read a folder. If one has run and the example is still sitting there, no Drive folder is in this cabinet yet. Nothing was overwritten and nothing errored. Add the folder and run it again.
