WhatsApp Catch-Up

Who needs you in your chats, what you planned, and what you promised.

What you get

Every morning at 07:30, one page about the WhatsApp chats you picked for this cabinet: the plumber, the building committee, the supplier, the client. Six cards:

• Today's chats. Who wrote in the last day, how many messages, and what it was about.
• Waiting on your reply. Chats where the other person wrote last, oldest first.
• Plans and dates. Times, places and dates agreed in a chat, by you or by them.
• Quotes and prices. Every amount mentioned, exactly as written, and whether you agreed to it.
• Files and photos shared. Photos, videos, voice notes and files, with their captions.
• You said you would. Things you promised, until a later message shows you did them.

On Sunday evenings it also writes the week ahead: the plans from your chats for Monday to Sunday.

You can ask Chat Keeper anything about your chats, for example "Who is waiting for my reply?" or "What did I agree with the plumber?". It can write a reply for you. It sends only in chats where you allowed writing, and only after you approve, unless you chose "Send on its own" for that chat.

How to read the page

Open Today in this cabinet. Every row says which chat it comes from and the date, so you can check it. Press a row to open that chat's saved pages. All conversations, at the bottom, opens every saved chat in one place.

People you have not saved in your phone appear as "the number ending 4410", never with their full number.

Until the first morning catch-up, the page shows a made-up example marked Example. The first real catch-up replaces it.

Before it reads your chats

Connect WhatsApp from Integrations in Cabinet and choose the chats this cabinet may read. Only those chats are saved here, in the whatsapp folder. Until you choose chats, the morning catch-up writes nothing and the page keeps the example.

Want plans on your calendar? Connect Google Calendar and ask "Put the plans from my chats on my calendar." If your calendar is connected so your team can only read it, Chat Keeper writes the plans out for you to add.

setup.md tells Chat Keeper which chats always matter, which to skip, what counts as waiting on you, and how replies should sound. Change it any time.

Before you connect

Cabinet joins your WhatsApp as a linked device, which WhatsApp does not officially allow. Keep it personal: many automated messages can get a number restricted. Cabinet isn't responsible if that happens.
